Cherry little Griffon , was bought by a lady who couldn't take care of him because she fell sick .Cherry is 4 months old, castrated, vaccinated, adorable, playful ,affectionate, plays with bigger dogs and would like a nice family who will give him all the love he deserves.

in our shelter, he is wonderful with the animals because his movements are very slow and he loves all the animals. Hopsy would like to be adopted by a loving family who has no Ashraf ...he is good with small dogs , we don't mix him with big ones.

I was brought to the S.P.A.R.E. shelter by an amazing archaeologist called Valerie Angenot, when my dear mom was found shot dead at the Sakkara area. Vicious men brutally killed my mom and left myself and my siblings as newly born puppies with no chance to fend for ourselves. How could they do such a terrible thing to us?!
The wonderful Valerie took us in to help take care of us and feed us since we were all crying from starvation. She brought us to the lovely S.P.A.R.E. shelter so we can get another chance at this life.
I'm quite shy but gentle and extremely loving. I promise I will be the greatest companion you will have ever had if you take me in. Will you?

 Hector , male, castrated, fully vaccinated, is one year old. Was rescued from Heliopolis a guard was torturing him and beating him daily with a hose, Amina's cousin called S.P.A.R.E , she said that she was not a dog lover, but that this dog was screaming so much and was so abused that she could do anything to save him. We send S.P.A.R.E's responsible Mosaad with a taxi , the minute the dog saw Mosaad he jumped on him and didn't stop leaking him ....He is now in our shelter waiting gor a serious family who will give him love and safety. This is a Great Dane, needs a lot of food , of exercise and an experimented owner.

Hi, I'm Intissar. I'm a very lucky dog I must say. I spent my formative years living a very harsh life- dealing with the mange on my skin, trying to find food and fending for myself in the unforgiving streets of Cairo.
I was recently attacked by a pack of really large dogs, I can't recall how it all happened, but all I remember was lying in the middle of the street in a pool of blood. Just when I could muster the strength to find some shelter, a bunch of evil children caught me and tied a rope around my neck. They were trying to strangle me!!! I don't know what kind of game this was, but it was a terrible pain I can't describe! I really had no more strength to fight, so I just gave in and hoped my death would come sooner than later.
Luckily, a courageous young man from S.P.A.R.E. called Shaaban came to my rescue! He scared those awful children away and rushed me straight to the emergency clinic at S.P.A.R.E..
So as you can see, I am a very lucky dog indeed. I am surrounded by love and affection- something I never knew of before.
Right now, my wounds are slowly healing and I'm hoping I can one day find a loving home that will take me in after all the suffering I've gone through. I guess that’s why they called me Intissar (which means survivor in Arabic).

Hello folks, my name is Kooky and I'm a purebred 7 year old Cocker Spaniel. My breed can be found in famous literature and art for over 500 years. We were also the dog of choice for many European kings and queens.
Alas my life hasn't been as quite the storybook fairytale as most Cocker Spaniels have.
I belonged to a family that didn't love me, but I was still loyal to them. After a few years, they got bored of me and decided to relocate elsewhere. Because I was the last thing on their mind, they decided they couldn't deal with me anymore and abandoned me to the building porter.
The porter couldn't give two hoots about me, barely fed and watered me and I was just miserable. After a while, I developed a terrible allergy that created these open sores on my nose. The porter of course didn't care that I was in a ridiculous amount of pain and the allergy got even worse. I was in so much pain.
Finally, one day a young girl decided to take me away from this life of misery and I was just so happy. She brought me S.P.A.R.E. where they nursed me back to health, just look at my before and after pictures!
Now, I'm hoping to finally get the family that will love me, and cuddle me all the time...just like all those other Cocker Spaniels. Will you be the one?
 

Little Obama ( black and white) with his mother Michelle. Michelle is the black female dog who came to S.P.A.R.E  almost dead with a nylon rope embedded in her neck , her throat was perforated , I thought this dog will not survive ,but she did , maybe she wanted to live for her baby little Obama. Both are for adoption .Is there anyone of you who will make their future better than their horrible past ?? Michelle is sterilized, vaccinated . Little Obama is vaccinated, not sterilised yet.

Well hello there! We are Chattour and Shahatt...we are 2 very resourceful little pups. We had lost our family and had a rough time on the streets for a while; scrounging for food scraps and shelter. We had heard through the grapevine of a magical place called S.P.A.R.E.; a paradise for unwanted dogs if you will. A place where clean drinking water flows, food is always served, the beds are always warm and comfy and most importantly where love is received unconditionally!
That sounded like a dream to my brother and I so, we immediately tried to find the place. After a long exhaustive search we finally made it, and we camped out in front of the gates until we were taken in...and we were! woo hoo!
With a belly full of food everyday and so much love and care we are now ready for adoption...hopefully we can get adopted together; will you take us in your lovely home?

This is the story of little " Mazlouma" a puppy rescued from the canal , but it wasn't us who saved her this time ,guess who did ? It was her mother who rescued her, one of the kids in Sakkara area threw " Mazlouma " and maybe her siblings in the canal , I was on my way to go home with friends I made in the OIE conference , we were going to Sakkara farm , and we saw the bitch holding in her mouth an little rabbit or something , women from Sakkara started to kick her and scare her , they thought she was eating a baby animal , we all stopped to see , I started shouting to the women after I noticed that the bitch was only rescuing her baby from the canal, but it was too late , the poor dog was terrified , she threw her baby and ran away from the women who were kicking her , I have tried to give her back her baby but she was too confused and didn't know what to do ....I took the baby home to bottle feed her and then took her  to S.P.A.R.E shelter.
I called her Mazlouma which means in Arabic" Victim of injustice". This happened 3 months ago in October , now Mazlouma is not a victim any more, it is ALL of us in SPARE who are her victims, we all spoiled her because of her very sad story , so we spoiled her so much that she developed a very strong personality and is now the alpha puppy in SPARE , all the other puppies respect her and are scared of her.

Hi there, I'm Kobeiba. I'm quite the story! I once had a mom and brothers and sisters who took care of me. It was a loving environment, but that was taken away from me so quickly when some kids snatched me away from my pack. It was petrified about what they'd do to me.
They then decided it would be a fun game to watch me drown in a canal; my mom had warned my brothers and I that there had been terrible stories of little pups drowned by some vicious children. It's a cruel game and someone needs to stop them!
Anyways, I got lucky and a precious woman called Madame May saved me in the nick of time, and took me to this wonderful place called S.P.A.R.E..
I'm getting over my ordeal and I still miss my mother terribly, but being at the shelter is helping me get through this tough time. I get to eat 6 or 7 meals a day and have made lots of friends with some kittens! One day I hope I can have a family of my own....would you be the one?

Popsy , MALE, 5 years, Micro chipped, sterilized. Was adopted from S.P.A.R.E. by American lady , after on year she brought him back , she said that her kids were playing with him roughly and that he was biting them. Of course he is right to defend himself. the son of the American lady is 11 years old , is fat and I am sure he was very rough with poor Popsy.

Maboule( female little puppy)This is Maboule.Female, Sterlized,she is 7 months. She came to S.P.A.R.E. on the 7th of December 2007 ( she was 3 weeks). MICRO CHIPPED, SMALL BODY. Maboule is submissive, scared of aggressive dogs, but very playful with humans.

This is Hansel. MALE. MICRO CHIPPED. SMALL Size. ONE Year old. nice dog with humans, is not dominant with other dogs. WAS VERY ATTACHED TO GRETTLE
( Both were horribly abused they were tied to a chain together and couldn't move for a day until a young American girl rescued them and brought them to S.P.A.R.E.. NOW GRETTLE IS ADOPTED. CAN WE FIND A HOME FOR HANSLE who feels so lonely ??

This is Taheya . FEMALE. SMALL SIZE.STERILISED. MICROSHIPPED.9 MONTHS old.(sister of Horus,Ramses,Sunday,Fifi) Fifi left for the USA with a wonderful lady.

Taheya was adopted and brought back by American family, they told me that she was not being walked, they didn't take her out, they were closing her in the house all lady.

Migo is one of the cutest, funniest and very respectable dog, he is blind but he doesn't care and he is still enjoying life, food , toys.
He loves being cuddled, groomed , he loves a certain kind of toys and plays like a baby. He is very very nice with humans, and nice with other dogs too , but he has one condition : HE must be respected, he tells the other dogs " Yes , I am blind, BUT you will respect me OK? Or I will be angry ...Hein ??" Migo is Micro Chipped , ready to travel. He is more than 5 years , is big. He was found next to a bin of garbage, an american man brought him to S.P.A.R.E., he said he wants to put him in S.P.A.R.E. hotel for a few days,The time Madam May went to bring the receipts the American man disappeared and left Migo. Migo was starving , very very slim and full of ticks..Now he is beautiful ,clean , with a wonderful fur and has a very nice temper.

This is Toya, little female puppy .Found in Sakkara by a member of BEST FRIENDS ORGANIZATION . 10 months old. Medium small size. STERILIZED Micro chipped.Ready to travel.
Toya has a strong personality , she is the alpha dog. Nice with humans. Hates injections and taking medicine. Princess Toya needs experimented owners who had a dog before.

This is Yakout , he is 9 months old. SMALL BODY. MICROCHIPPED. READY TO TRAVEL.
He was found by Md.May who works in S.P.A.R.E.. The poor puppy was strangled by children, they were also smashing his head on the sidewalk of the street and one boy was kicking him ....Madame May when she saw them started screaming telling them to stop ...She saw the whole scene and it was dark ...Yakout was so in shock that he was not crying or even screaming he was completely silent... Madame May ran to the boys, insulted them and took the puppy in her arms, she carried him for 2 Kms and brought him to S.P.A.R.E. ( He was 2 or 3 months old) we put him in the clinic in a cage to see what has happened in his body..... he had no expression AT ALL ,for maybe 2 weeks( I thought he became stupid or handicapped because his head was smashed on the sidewalk )..But after two weeks he started becoming normal , playing with the other dogs, intelligent and very playful..Perfect dog for a family, maybe he has some complexes from children , they harmed him so muchWhat happened to him the first two weeks( of no expression and complete silence) was just the shock of being tortured by the kids, it was a trauma and and a horrible shock. I have never seen a case like this, most rescued dogs when they arrive to S.P.A.R.E. , look scared, horrified, can be a little agressive or wants to stay alone for a while, but poor Yakout was like a statue, no movement , no sound, no cry , nothing...Thank God he is super normal now...

Nagah , Female, 1 year One of our latest rescues, car accident , leg broken , S.P.A.R.E car went to collect her after we received a call from a passbyer..She was brought to the shelter, Dr Sameh did everything to make her feel better, she is now OK, spayed , ready for adoption and of course took all her vaccines.
